Well it has been ages since I posted anything! I suppose it's because all this new media takes a while to get used to! Keeping up with Facebook and Twitter and all the other "stuff". Well we have been really busy, we are renovating the Cottages over the Winter. Its wonderful meeting new Guests and welcoming back previous Guests - I was going to say old faces but realised that might not be a very diplomatic thing to say :) Then the Farm is getting Busy as Spring has made a welcome return - I hope I'm not speaking too soon.... Nature really gets busy in Tibradden in Springtime. The wild Deer on the Hill came down fairly close to us on Friday to see what we were doing...they are so graceful and move so fast. No wonder Santa uses Deer they really are a very eco friendly way to travel - moving in the blink of an eye! The ewes are starting to lamb...Chris is up at night watching the ewes - Marilyn the pure bred Suffolk is next to lamb. Its her first time. She is expecting twins. We had a Family vote for her name and Marilyn came out clear favourite as she is the most blonde of our Suffolks ( her fleece is quite yellow!) We haven't heard the Cuckoo yet. She comes every year to Tibradden and her distinctive call is a sure sign Spring has sprung!

New Post!

Hi Guys,

So I realise I haven't been keeping this blog very well have I?

The Summer is well and truly upon us here in Dublin, its been a great couple of weeks for us weather-wise. All the sheep are shorn and the hay is in and saved! They all look a little funny at first, but really its just like them getting a crew cut haircut. Keeps them nice and cool in the warm summer months :) The record for schearing a sheep now stands at 17 SECONDS! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K30NnL1eLLs

We have spent the last few weeks re-designing and collecting info for our website http://www.dublincottages.com/! We hope you enjoy it as much as we have designing it :)

Greenday played Marlay Park last week and it was a great show with fireworks and great weather!

Dublin and Music

Hi,

So today I got thinking about Music in Dublin and really there are so many great venues! The Closest to Dublin Cottages is Marlay Park in Rathfarnham. Generally they hold Rock Concerts this year Greenday are coming and last year DJ Fat Boy Slim played too. Many of our guests here at Tibradden have enjoyed the Concerts at Marlay over the years.

Another great venue is the O2 in Dublin (formerly The Point Depot). There are some great concerts coming up including Lady GaGa, JLS, 50 Cent, Rod Stewart, Rihanna and Cirque du Soleil.

There are other great venues such as The Village and The National Concert Hall.

There are also many other venues for Comedy and Theatre but that's for another post I think!

Shopping in Dublin

A lovely January Day! Popped into Town, in Dublin we call the City Centre town! Got the bus in and the Luas home. Found great bargains in Arnotts Department Store in Henry St, their January sale is amazing! Pat in the Sports Dept is a fountain of knowledge! When you shop in Henry St Dublin you see the real heart of Dublin.

Then out into O' Connell St and over the River Liffey, past Trinity College to Grafton St and a real treat..Afternoon Tea in Avoca Handweavers in Suffolk St. Then headed to Dundrum Town Centre to see a movie

January...

2010 kicked off in Tibradden with a beautiful Snowfall! Spring is starting to arrive now and before we know it we will have the lambing and calving starting. We have already had our first lamb of the season-still unnamed as of yet- on January 15th. He is a purebred Suffolk Lamb. The lambing will start in earnest around St. Patrick's Day

The Snowdrops and Daffodils are starting to arrive too...

We are now in the thick of the Rugby Season, and Cian's Senior Cup Rugby Team will be facing St. Gerard's in Bray in a few weeks' time; and the girls will be out jumping the ponies soon too...

We love Spring here at Tibradden...
